Like the lighthouse, Pathways' goal is to help guide the way.

Pathways House is a Christian, non-profit, primarily volunteer-staffed organization established in 2002. The Lord loves international students and He has opened our hearts to love them too. We serve Him by serving them. Our goal is to love them into the kingdom of God. We assist the students as they face a variety of challenges during their visit to our country.

Although we do not bring the students here many of the local businesses are aware of our services and send their students to us for help.  We assist the students with housing, transportation to Elizabeth City, and free computer access, as well as being a source of information for the many questions which they have. During the course of the summer we offer events, ESL classes, Bible studies, shopping excursions and fun nights at the YMCA.  When needed, we are also prepared to serve as counselor and advocate in dealing with employment and housing issues and as their "safety net" when confronted with personal problems.

At this time, we have a board of directors who give oversight to the ministry, two staff menbers who coordinate all the activities and serve as liasons to the local community and dozens of volunteers. It is the volunteers who serve as the hands and feet of the ministry. If you are willing to allow the Lord to love the students through your life, please consider joining us.
