Pathways primarily serves as a source of information for the international students. We help them navigate through a complicated and often unfamiliar environment. We help them get the most from this experience by enjoying the historic, cultural, and natural beauty offered by our islands.
We sponsor special events designed to offer encouragement and fellowship, including free dinners and other social gatherings. Our volunteers provide much needed transportation – we are always in need to volunteers to help with this service. When requested, we serve as advisors and advocates for students dealing with issues of concern or confusion. We also offer language support services; including tutoring and some translation services (limited to certain languages).
One of our most important services is to provide communication resources for the students. Through our website and through personal contact we are a clearing house for information. At our facility we provide free computer and internet access with 10 computers available. Free Skype is the latest software we provide as a service to the students for communicating with family and friends back home. These services are vital for allowing the students to maintain contact with their families and national cultures as well as searching for housing and jobs.
"The harvest is plentiful but the workers are few. Ask the Lord of the harvest, therefore, to send out workers into his harvest field." Matthew 9:37b-38
